What you need to know about Microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that takes off a layer of the skin with the use of small crystals. Now when they say taking off a layer of skin that dosn`t mean ripping the skin off. No..... See we have 5 layers of epidermal skin that is as thin as a piece of paper. The only layer they take off is the 1 layer. The 1st layer of the epidermis is called the Stratum Corneum. The Stratum Corneum is basically the build up of dead skin cells and dead fat cells that are which shed every 2 weeks. So what Microdermabrasion dose is it manually exfoliates the skin to remove the dead skin cells and to help the skin`s cell turn over to help the appearance of aging characteristics such as dark spots or lines. I know it sounds amazing right, but as always good things take time I cant say that enough, because there are a lot of at home microdermabrasion machines that you can buy and personally don't waste your time. Yea its cheaper, but having a professional that knows what they are doing can recommend and provide what you need. and is a better pay off and is worth the money.
I have seen those infomercials on the "At Home Micro" and I had to say I was disappointed in the fact that people will do anything to make a quick buck. Even if that means ruining the other person skin. There was a specific lady on the tv and she was thrilled and says she uses it everyday. Even the people on the infomercials said it was ok to do it everyday! So I got to tell you CAN NOT do microdermabrasion everyday.
First of all it takes off the skin cells and then the next day your taking off another layer of skin when you did`t even give the last session a chance to heal or for the cells to build up agian to make the layer of skin. So that is just over exfoliating which causes redness, sensitivity, and irritation especially to light.
So here is how it works to exfoliate the skin. It is a two action machine which means it blows out the fine crystals and it also sucks them back up into the soiled part of the machine which is later dumped out and cleaned.
