Cosmetic Ingeridents (Good+Bad)

We all adore the products that make us look beautiful, but are they really good for our overall skincare heath? In this post I will explain to you the different types ingredients and what kind are good for your skin, also I will tech you how to read product labels so you can spot a good product.  The first thing I need to explain to you is the labeling of the ingredients list on the back of the product. When reading the ingredient list you should look at the first ingredient. The first ingredient is the highest amount produced in the product and the most common first ingredient is water, because it a basic base to any liquid product. Though keep in a eye out for the four or five highest ingredients because those are the most active ingredients.

Hydroxy Acids-Hydroxy acids are Organic Ingredients that come for natural substances such as fruits(Malic Acids, Tartaric Acids, and Citrus Acid) Sugar(Glycolic Acids), and Milk(Lactic Acid). These Acids perform as a Exfoliate agent to the skin. The Exfoliates will increase he smoothness, softness, and brightness of the skin. This will improve any dark spots, blemishes, or any other imperfections you may have. Hydoxy Acids are basically a natural microdermabrasion without the tools. So these are good for people with oiliness, or aceneic skin.

Antioxidants-Antioxidants are ingredients used to reduce inflammation/damage to the skin caused by free radicals(Free Radicals are chemically unstable molecules that cause environmental pollutants, and UV exposure which damage the main functions of the skin.) The Antioxidants destroy the free radicals by stabilizing them, then preventing any other damage. Some Antioxidant ingredients derive from Vitamin C(Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ascorbyl Palmitate) Vitamin A(Tretinoin-used in Retin-A) Vitamin E( Tocopherol, Vitamin E Acetate, Alpha Lipoic Acid) So Antioxidants are very essential for everyone's skin health.

Non-Comedogenic- Non-Comedogenic ingredients are ingredients that are less likely to clog you pores. Some examples of Non-Comedogenic include ingredients that are water soluble(Water soluble means you can absorb in water) such as Vitamins and Enzymes. These should be on the top of the ingredients list. Non- Comedogenic are good for people that have larger pores, oily, and have acneic skin.

Enzymes-Enzymes are ingredients that break down keratin build up/dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Enzymes act as an Exfoliate producing softer, and smoother skin. Some Enzyme Ingredients include Papain(Papaya enzyme), and Bromelian(Pineapple Enzyme).  Enzymes are great for any type of skin.

Silicones-Silicones are ingredients that are free of contaminants, and are environmentally friendly. Silicones are a perfect lubricant for body lotions, and primers, because of the protective moisturizing agent it has + it is Non-Comedogenic! Some examples of Silicones include Cyclomethicone(This gives a product a silky feel) Dimethicone(Gives the slip of a product) Dimethicone copolyol(Makes products feel soft especially in sunscreens) So when looking for any makeup primer try to find of with the most of silicone in it.

DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub

Who knew that Lemonade can have dramatic effects of the skin! People drink lemonade as a thirst quencher during the summer, but I use it for a completely different manner. I scrub it on my face? I`m not saying just take Kool-ade and wash your face with it. I`m saying this is simpler than putting together Kool-ade, and gives you amazing results the first time you do this. I noticed my skin was brighter, more even toned, and my pores were smaller. Now there are some things you need to know before you try this. This is not a good remedy for acne of inflamed acne. Since the Sugar is granulated this is going to irritate the pustules and papules causing then to burst or even get infected. This
is a good remedy for Dry Skin because the lemon and  sugar mixed can create a more moisturizing effect.

 THE INGREDIENTS

WATCH MY VIDEO TO SEE THE PROCESS:

STEP ONE CREATE: The first thing you would want to do is put the granulated sugar on a plate or in a bottles container. Then mix in the Organic Lemon Juice. You don`t want it to be watery so if it is (as shown in the video) apply more sugar. You want it to look like a thick paste kind of like wet sand.

STEP TWO APPLY: Now splash warm water on your face before you begin this will actually expand the pores to increase product penetration. Then take the scrub and roll it on your skin in soft circular motions. The granules will exfoliate any dead skin cells, and help with sun damage since the granules promotes cell turn over which means they scrub away the spots on the surface of the skin and helps to bring the damage up and out. Plus Lemon is used for dark spots and freckles to decrease the shade of them. Then after you scrub for one minute you rinse your face with cold water. This can temporary shrink the pores to have brighter and more smooth look. Then Pat Dry.

STEP THREE AFTER CARE:Finally you apply you regular moisturizer cream that is suitable for your skin type. For example, I have Combination/Oily skin so I`m using Absolute Moisture by Bioelements. In my video I used Clean and Clear Morning glow, but now I recommend using this at night because the exfoliation process can increase sensitivity right afterwards.

Now your skin is Flawless, thanks to just a couple natural ingredients :)
